Charity and Non-Profit Mediation Services

Early Resolution Designed for the Charity Sector

Protecting Your Mission Through Effective Conflict Resolution

Empathetic, confidential mediation to help you navigate difficult conversations and find a positive resolution.

Charities face unique challenges.

Disputes often arise in environments driven by purpose, volunteers, trustees and limited internal HR support. When conflict escalates, it can affect morale, governance and public confidence.

Through our structured tiered mediation model, the Mediation Agency provides proportionate, professionally managed resolution services tailored to charities and community organisations.

Charity Early Resolution Partnership

We operate a Charity Early Resolution Partnership for eligible small charities and non-profit organisations.

This partnership is designed to:

  • Resolve disputes early

  • Protect relationships

  • Support trustee governance

  • Avoid unnecessary escalation

  • Maintain organisational focus on purpose

Eligibility

Charity Early Resolution Partnership access typically applies to:

  • Registered UK charities

  • Organisations below a defined income threshold

  • Charities without in-house HR or legal teams

  • Disputes suitable for mediation

Eligibility and allocation are discussed at enquiry stage.

Our Core Services for Charities

We support charities of all sizes, from local community groups to national foundations.

Early Resolution Services

We will support your volunteers with Early Resolution services that are without charge to help reduce the need to engage with mediation and formal intervention. Our volunteers will take the time to listen and signpost towards options for resolution.

Trustee & Board Dispute Resolution

Governance disputes can paralyse an organisation. We facilitate difficult conversations between board members to align strategic vision and restore effective leadership.

Staff & Volunteer Mediation

Managing a mix of paid staff and volunteers brings unique challenges. We resolve interpersonal conflicts, communication breakdowns, and grievance issues before they escalate.

Stakeholder & Community Conflict

When disputes arise with external stakeholders, donors, or community partners, our mediators help navigate complex relationships to preserve vital support networks.

Training and Professional Development

We will work with your teams to provide training and guides to enable self-resolution of conflict.

Why Early Resolution Matters for Charities

Unresolved conflict can:

  • Distract trustees

  • Increase volunteer turnover

  • Damage public trust

  • Create regulatory risk

Mediation provides a confidential, structured process to restore working relationships and move forward constructively.
